We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us

This generation has produced Christians that are primarily Santa Claus Christians. They eagerly look for God to put up a Christmas tree with all their gifts under it. They are grateful to God, and it is right and proper to be thankful for all things He does for us and all the good, large and small, that He gives us. That is, however, only the lower, elementary kind of love.

When the Christian church in any generation ceases to be a company of worshipers, their religion succumbs to mere outer effects, empty works and meaningless rituals.

Getting There.

I want to be content in Christ. Fully content.

It takes a lot to fully have faith in the fact that God is in control, and we can do NOTHING. We are nothing apart from the love of Christ.

Jesus says Matthew that if we have faith, nothing is impossible. And if we ask, it will be done for us. Well, I’m not wanting a new guitar, a girlfriend, or a house. I want to be content in Christ. And I want to have FULL faith in Him through every area of my life.

I’m working on it.

Thank you, Ben and Amanda. I love you both.

If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn’t help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we’ve got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don’t want to do it.

“They wanted to pray together, but not see each other, before the ceremony.”

Oh. How lovely.

Seeing videos/pictures of two Godly people being joined as one through Christ is one of the most encouraging things for me.
Whoever she is, she’s worth the wait.

“…for unto you, a Savior is born.”

Christmas has never been a huge thing in my family.

My great-grandfather passed away Christmas day in 1989 (obviously, I never met him). My mom was SUPER close to him. They were best buds. We’ve always celebrated Christmas (opened presents, that whole thing), but the whole thing is kind of a downer.

Now, my view of Christmas is totally different.

I “got saved” my 7th grade year. I didn’t start consistently attending church until 10th grade. I surrendered to ministry my 11th grade year. But I don’t think I was a Christian. I knew ABOUT God, but I don’t think I KNEW God.

Honestly, I don’t think I became a Christian until last Fall. For the first time, Jesus made sense. It kind of went like this: “Oh my gosh, He’s alive…HE’S ALIVE!” Yeah, big God stuff. It was overwhelming, really - as it should be. And now, for the first time, I am in full reverence of the fact that Jesus has come to make a way for me to have fellowship with the Father.

In this season, I am reflecting on my walk and realizing how sinful I am. Yet, in my sin, I know that Christ came to remove my sin and bring me into the Kingdom of God. He did the same for us all.

Ephesians 6:4-6 says, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved - and raised us up with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…”

Without Jesus, there is no Christmas. Without Jesus, we could not have fellowship with the Father. Without Jesus, we are sinners.

But Christ HAS come.

Luke 2:10 & 11 - “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Praise God that He has come.

It’s a celebration, y’all.

Let us sing…loudly, and full of joy.

Not Famous.

Hey, Tumblr. Missed ya.

In two-ish weeks, I will be going to see Shane & Shane and Phil Wickham’s Christmas Tour in Benton, AR. Needless to say, I’m excited.

I’m trying to be careful and not be excited about the fact that I’m going to see my favorite worship leaders in person and worship TO their music, but to be excited about the fact that I get to worship WITH them.

We are members of the same Body, worshipping the same God. That is our goal. I am excited to see how the Lord works through the service. DANGIT I’M EXCITED.

Come, Lord Jesus.
